Some time ago I’ve heard about the legendary DDT4ALL software, thanks to which many users were able to make improvements to their Duster … the display of the clock on the CdB, the consumption in km / l or more in l / 100km, cornering activation and other useful things.
DDT4all is an open-source program with a friendly graphical interface. With this program and a CAN network with a cheap ELM327 interface, you can access various control devices and change parameters via the OBD interface. For example, functions can be unlocked that are actually withheld from other models (eg comfort indicators, permanent tacho lighting). Using the application in nonexpert mode should not be harmful to your vehicle (leave the expert mode button released)
The author declines all responsibility for the bad use of this tool. You are the only responsible. This tool is mainly aimed at CAN ISO_TP network study.

The devices discussed in this manual, software, and methods for working with them are not released by the car manufacturer.

And now if you are ok, we can start with basic changes that we will cover in this article:
Preliminary operations
What will we need, first of all?
- An OBD2 interface ( ELM327 V1.5 mandatory with PIC 18F25K80) compatible, whether it is USB, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, you can read about the versions here;
- The correct driver for the interface in case of USB can be Prolific USB – SERIAL and can be download from the LINK
- A laptop PC with Windows (tested with 7 and 10);
- The DDT4ALL software, which you will find(version 5.3.5 updated to 20.01.2019 by Zmiterm) or the official owner Cedricp GitHub release DOWNLOAD LINK HERE for all the DDT4ALL + DACIA database last tested + PYREN and driver necessary for USB ELM OBD SCANNER
- A minimum of computer skills, otherwise it is better to leave it alone …
Once the program is downloaded we need to install it in our PC as we do for any software, then double click on the icon, click on the English language, click again on next, next, at this point we check the box “create an icon on the desktop and then on go ahead, and then install, then finish Now we can get familiar with DDT4ALL trying to modify the various parameters in the “DEMO” version (so we will not change anything and we can do it even without attaching the OBD2 to the machine). Click on the icon that we find on the desktop after its installation. A white window will open that we will leave alone and shortly after another small window with the various connection selection options, we just click at the bottom and center of the box on the word “Demo” (Figure 1).
In the database we will find different types of control unit:
Now, we need to choose our Duster model car by:
- X79 – Duster (which corresponds to the first model released, ergo from 201 to 2013);
- X79Ph2 – Duster Ph2 (relative to restyling, ie from 2014 to 2017);
- XJD – Duster II (current model, which is what we will be working on today).
If you already see how the software is working, it’s time for going to the car with the laptop and connect the OBD ELM327 to the OBD CAN slot:
Now it’s time for modifications:
- Display the temperature on the on-board computer and change the consumption reading from L / 100KM to KM / L + Overspeed warning alarm
- Make the clock appear on the CD;
- Cornering activation;
- Deactivation of seat belt warning (the author of the guide has not personally tested this change);
- Automatic rear window wiping deactivated with reverse gear engaged.

1. Display the temperature on the on-board computer and change the consumption reading from L / 100KM to KM / L + Overspeed warning alarm
For the modification of KM / L (Trip computer – mileage / volume) follow:
Cluster / TDB> CMFB Cluster v6.08> [Cluster / TDB] CMFB Cluster v6.08> Ecrans Configuration> Conf Prestations VEH> in the screen that appears go to the TripComputerType_CF line and insert the word “mileage / volume”> click on Computer Type> click on the Reset SW: 11 box.
For temperature (External Temperature) follow:
Cluster / TDB> CMFB Cluster v6.08> [Cluster / TDB] CMFB Cluster v6.08> Ecrans Configuration> Conf Prestations VEH> in the screen that appears we go to the ExternalTeperature_CF line and insert the words “External Temp Measurement and Display”> click on Temperature Exterieure> click on the Reset SW: 11 box.
For Speed warning alarm follow:
Cluster / TDB> CMFB Cluster v6.08> [Cluster / TDB] CMFB Cluster v6.08> Ecrans Configuration> Conf Prestations VEH> in the screen that appears we go to the OverspeedWArning Preset line and insert the words “With Overspeed warning (GCC countries)”> click on Overspeed warning> click on the Reset SW: 11 box.
Important: To be able to send the command, press the top left button with Einstein’s smile and then, after changing the parameters from the drop-down menu, first press the “send command” button and then “reset”. Once the change has been implemented, the Duster framework switches off and then switches back on.
2. Display the clock on the on-board computer
For this change we follow the path:
Cluster / TDB> CMFB Cluster v6.08> [Cluster / TDB] CMFB Cluster v6.08> Ecrans Configuration> Conf_2 Prestations IHM> in the screen that appears we go to the Clock_CF line and set the “Clock displayed and set / RTC ON”> click on Clock button> click on Reset SW: 11.
Then Clock_CF and select the third item starting from the top down from the drop-down menu, first press the “clock” key and then “reset“. Once the change has been implemented, the Duster framework switches off and then switches back on.
3. Cornering activation
The Cornering function turns on the fog lights relative to the direction in which they are steered or when the direction indicator is inserted. This is the path:

- As far as Cornering is concerned, to have a better and more functional result, we need to enter these parameters and each time we have to click on the “Send” box:
Cxx_A1_angle_CF => “60”
Cxx_A2_angle_CF => “15”
Cxx_CorneringSpeed_CF => “40”
Cxx_dimming_time_CF => “300”
Cxx_MAX_power_PWM_ratio_CF => “100”
Cxx_min_power_PWM_ratio_CF => “50” - Cornering may not work on some ECUs.
4.Deactivating seat belt warning (NOT TESTED by the author of the guide)
SAFETY BELT ALARM DEACTIVATION PATH:

Attention: Indicator is still visible!!
5.Deactivation Automatic rear window wiper with reverse gear engaged
PATH DISABLING AUTOMATIC REARWINDER WITH REVERSE:

7. RAIN SENSOR AUTOMATIC WIPER
RAIN SENSOR ACTIVATION PATH DDT4ALL:

This modification only works on cars that have the sensor in the central rear-view mirror, otherwise it will not work. Once this parameter has been enabled to make it work, we need to keep the wiper lever in position 1.
8.START & STOP DISABLING

10.Disable/Enable Keyless Go Horn (Duster2)
In the Handsfree control unit (T4_VS_HFM_2_DDT …) under HornJungle, HornJungle – Configuration, set the parameter “WAC_JINGLE_CF” to “false” and press “Send” on the right.
The horn can also be shortened by reducing the values of the parameters “FEEDBACK_WAC_1_TM_CF (ms)” (first horn) and “FEEDBACK_WAC_2_TM_CF (ms)” (second horn). Less than 5 ms does not sound.
The time between the horns can be changed with “WAC_MUTE_TM_CF (ms)”.
11.MultiView Camera Shutdown Speed Change (Duster2)
The shutdown speed can be set between 0 and 50 km / h. How to connect to the MVC controller is described here: Configuring MediaNav (Evolution) .
In the MVC control unit (HJD_MVC …) under Diagnostic, 2_MVC_Configuration, change the parameter “Deactivation speed” and at the bottom right, press “Write Configuration”.
12.Autowindow closing
DDT4ALL PATH

13. DISABLE FREESHIFT

14. HSA ENABLE
ABS / ESC> ABS ESC v3.8> 1.Configuration> 11 – ECU CONFIGURATION> in the screen that appears we go to the FREESHIFTMANAGEMENTCF line the parameter “HSA function act./deact.” set to “Activated” and press “Write HSA CONFIG“. .
15. ANTI HIJACK and other parameters of the central locking
If you activate the ANTI_HIJACK_CF function , then the following will happen:
1) when you press the “unlock doors” button on the vehicle keyfob once, the standard security system will be disabled, while the doors will remain locked, when this button is pressed again, the doors will be unlocked.
2) when one of the doors is opened from the inside, with the central lock turned on, only the open door will be unlocked, and the remaining doors will remain locked to open them from the outside.

18. OIL SERVICE DAYS/DISTANCE RESET
AS with old dacia versions, eight values can be set: interval and remaining days/km for both oil change (Vidange) and maintenance (Révision). Resetting the counters to their initial values is more complicated (choose function Oil drain reset or Service reset from the RoutineIdentifierList and run the Oil DRAIN RESET Exec Routine button. It seems easier to reset the values in the on-board computer menu.
How reset oil light service Dacia Duster without an interface?
- Switch ignition ON.
- Press and hold the throttle pedal.
- Press the brake pedal 3 times.
Important: After you changed everything is mandatory to: Read error with Read DTC (heart icon from top)
Most control units must be reset after parameter changes by means of a software or hardware reset for the changes to take effect. You should then read the fault memory of all ECUs, as it can lead to error entries when certain data in the CAN bus are unavailable while the controller reboots.
This can be done with the “Read DTC” button (orange heart) and then clear the errors with “Clear ALL DTC”. You have to do it separately for each controller:
