So the first amazing app is named ECU Tweaker and on Premmium package you are able not only to read your configs but also to write the same functionalities as on DDT4ALL. Isn’t that great ??

ECU Tweaker is an application for Android devices that allows you to change the configuration of your car using a standard Bluetooth ELM327 adapter (with the original PIC18F2480 chip).
Unlike the PyClip application, ECU Tweaker works with the ddt base.

Installation

Install the APK with adb Android tool or directly on the phone.

You must install a zipped database on your device storage (internal or external). You can use the zip database feature of DDT4All to build it. There is no support for XML file right now. The database is JSON formatted and the zip archive file name must be ecu.zip You can place it anywhere you want on your device (external or internal) storage.

How to use it?

Press the magnifying glass button, select the desired vehicle, and then select the desired ECU (ESP, AIRBAG, etc.) from the list. Or AUTO IDENTIFY, so that the application chooses the appropriate ECU file by itself.

Known issues

  • On Android 9+, if you can’t connect to a WiFi ELM device, enable location service in your Android settings.
  • Some WiFi ELM sometimes bug and overflows input buffer (not my fault)

ELM requirements

You can connect with any good quality Bluetooth ELM327 (with original PIC18F2480). Open the application, click the SELECT BLUETOOTH DEVICE button, and choose your dongle from the list. Tested with a KW902 successfully.

Tips

  • Autorefresh by long-clicking refresh icon (to read live engine parameters for example)

Program features

Reading all parameters from all control units of the car – engine, transmission, etc. Reading, decoding of all codes of malfunctions and parameters during fixing of an error. Testing of sensors and actuators. Configuring control units.

How to use

To use the application, you need an ELM327 adapter – original or Chinese with a version of the 1.5 chip. On Android 8 and above, connection breaks with the Bluetooth version of the adapter are possible, in this case it is better to use the WI-FI version. While working with WI-FI ELM327, the Internet will not be available.

Start screen

START – Start the program. ELM port – adapter port or Wi-Fi adapter address. The Wi-Fi address is specified in the format IP: port of the adapter. Language – language.

Demo mode – run the script in demo mode with the savedEcus.p file DUMP – save a block dump. It is recommended to do this before making any changes to the parameters in the machine, in order to be able to correct the unexpected consequences of such changes.

Orientation landscape – launch in portrait mode.

Scan vehicle – selection of a car model. Generate logs – enable the logging function. The log file may be needed for error analysis, block address verification and other cases. Log name – The name of the log file. CAN2 (Multimedia CAN) – using the CAN2 bus with an appropriate adapter. On which the multimedia is located. Font size – The size of the font in the program. KWP Force Slow lnit – using the slow-init parameter for older blocks. If you have a car before 2009 with an unstable connection, it is better to activate it. Control unit structure

DE: Device errors – reading, deleting errors. ID: Identifications – check the VIN of the block, firmware version, hardware, etc. SY: System state – display of current main readings (speed, voltage, temperature, etc.). SP: System parameters – output of the current block parameters, without the possibility of changing.

LC: System configuration – output of the current configuration, without the possibility of changing.

AC: Executing tests – run scripts for testing the unit (for example, check all tidy lights, relays, etc.).

CF: Changing configuration – Changing the block configuration. CAUTION! VP: VIN programming – programming the VIN hardwired into each block. RZ: Resets – Resets all block and calibration errors.

ECM: Extended command set are configuration scripts. Most of it does not work (probably while the script is being finalized), but you can familiarize yourself with the principles of operation using the show command and after the phrase “There is scenario. I do not support them! ” press enters when prompted.
