Taken from MALIKA’s debut EP, All You Never Knew, and produced by Snakehips and Maths Time Joy, “Put It On Me” fuses 90’s RnB with toned down future bass, for the ultimate feels. Influenced by the likes of R. Kelly, Mary J Blige, and Brandy, “Put It On Me” is modern soul, or future RnB, however you want to call it. Keep your eyes and ears out for the talented UK vocalist, with upcoming tracks by Sam Feldt, Bearcubs, Cadenza and more! Think Corinne Bailey Rae vocals layered over soulful electronic sounds, MALIKA is the truth.
Just released as a free download is the tune “Dirty Harry”, originally from Grace, which has been reworked by Sydney based producer Oski. Everything this guy seems to touch right now blows up, and this tune is likely to be no exception. “Dirty Harry” is pushed into a smooth rolling D&B direction, and Oski is on hand to deliver some superb musical layering. With reverb-edged vocals settling over a roughly textured bass line, the track moves seamlessly through peaks and troughs thanks to Oski’s deft technical skills.
“Weatherman” by Justin Jay is one of my favorite songs released in 2016. Justin Jay has revealed Fantastic Voyage (The Album!) with the release of its first track “Weatherman” via Black Butter Records. Justin Jay decided to take a different route in the rollout of his debut album, arranging a mix of singles and EPs to be released on different labels which will eventually come together in its entirety later on. The album itself represents a conduit of exploration, which is reflected in each track’s distinctive sound.
If you remember the big release a few months back called “Fever” featuring the artist Benson, you will probably be interested to hear this EP. There are two fresh tracks on Lenno’s new Good Thing EP and the title track, “Good Thing” is a prefect spring time jam. Prepare for some awesome tunes and enjoy.
